Spring?

For me, my first sighting of Jasmine indicates that Spring is just around the corner. I saw my first sighting this morning! hhmmm...I guess I'll have to take it on faith. It still feels like we're in the depth of winter.

Hi Campbell,
Spring is just around the corner in Australia while North America is enjoying the last month of summer. This in between time is strange; you hate to see one season go but are looking forward to the next one looming in the near future. Does spring officially begin on September 1st in Melbourne? Jasmine smells so delicate and sweet…

When I first read the post, I'd forgotten that you weren't in my hemisphere....it's the middle of August and hot as hell up here. I saw the jasmine in my yard spontaneously combust. :)

Yes Miss L., Spring does officially start on Sep 1. I think it won't feel like it then however! We're having a cold end to winter. I wouldn't mind if it was wet as well as we need the rain - but it's just been plain old cold!

Hi JJ - I'm looking forward to some of that heat!

Hi Campbell,
Before long you’ll be basking in the warm (hot?) sunshine and forget about the cold winter. It’s strange when I think of you celebrating the Holidays in the midst of summer (shorts, bathing suits, etc.) while Americans are freezing their butts off around the Yule Tree. I assume from your comment that water is still scarce in Melbourne, like it is around here.

Haven't seen any jasmine yet, but I'm keeping an eye out for daffodils. And when things warm up I'll come out of hibernation...

Yes Miss L., unfortunately water is still a scarce commodity around here. We are hoping for good Spring rains.
Nash: Promises, promises!

Hi Campbell,
It would be a big help if Australia and California could take some of the flood water from Florida (and surrounding southern states) created by hurricane Fay. That would solve a multitude of problems for everyone, wouldn’t it?

LOL! promises…promises
